CityGuard Bring and Buy Sun 22nd November

Hi everyone,

CityGuard will be hosting our first official Bring and Buy event in November on Sunday 22nd. This is where everyone can come along, bring out all their random miniatures/games/bits and pieces they wont ever need and try and flog them
off/swap them/trade them/just show them off.

We will set up some tables just for this, probably down the end of the hall where I usually have the snacks. I'll bring along some post it notes and pens, you write little notes on your stuff, like who is the seller, and how much you want for it... and leave your goodies displayed on the table...

Then people come along, look at all the awesome goodies on the tables, ask me who (insert name) is, I point you out to them and you sell/swap/trade your stuff...

I've had so much fun coming along to AWC ones I figured I'd try one at CityGuard.

Some changes from my first post a while back. We are open longer, until
7pm...

The 40K folks are organising a special 500pts 40K in 40mins event. The Fantasy folks are organising a special 500pts baby league event. The Warmachine folk are organising a special 15pt event. All these are mentioned in the CityGuard Forums here http://www.cityguard.co.nz/forum/index.php/board,2.0.html

Anyone wanting to organise a game of some sort or to join up with the special events, it's just $3 to play for the afternoon regardless of whether you are a member or not... just for 1 day only :)

We will be running a BBQ around 5:30pm with sausages for sale. You can BYO BBQ food if you want to cook your own. We will have some drinks and snacks available for sale as well. We are classing this as our end of year sort of event, so come along to catch up with folks.

You are all welcome to come and visit. CityGuard meets in the Freeman's Bay Communiyt Hall, Hepburn Road, just down the road from Ponsonby road. We meet
from 1pm to 7pm, so anytime in between would be awesome.

Any questions?

Regards,
Karen

P.S. I will be available to take pre-registrations for BattleCry during the event as well.

Sorry about the lack of posts for those who were following the calendar on here. It's a New Year, calendars will recomence on Sunday.

BattleCry 2009 - 21st and 22nd February (Auckland)

Hi all,

Just reminding people that registrations are now open for all events at BattleCry.

BattleCry will be in a new venue for 2009. The ASB Stadium in Kohimarama.
Address information and map details are on our website at
www.theamericaclub.net.nz/battlecry2009

There is a registration form on-line you can fill out here http://theamericaclub.net.nz/battlecry2009/form and mention which tournament you want to sign up for in the Notes box please.

There are a bunch more events happening this time and we still have some space for a few more additions if anyone is interested in running a tournament, a demonstration event or just some show and tell type stuff. We will also be giving out loot bags again so if anyone wants to advertise future 2009 events we can put fliers into the loot bags. Please pass this invitation onto others who run gaming events if they aren’t on this list.

Tournaments for 2009 include:

Warhammer 40K (1850 pts) (player packs available)
Warhammer Fantasy (2000pts) (player packs available)
25mm DBMM Medieval/Ancients Doubles
Flames of War (Mid War)
A Call to Arms (Babylon 5)
Warmachine and Hordes (Saturday NZ Masters 750pts and Sunday 300pts Armored Assault)
Bloodbowl (Streetbowl during Saturday daytime, and Dungeonbowl Saturday evening)
Monsterpocolypse (demo and some sort of event)

Legend of the 5 Rings CCG
Spoils CCG
Larping all weekend
Board Games

There will be heaps of demos and Learn to Play areas including games like Lord of the Rings, Full Thrust, DnD minis and much more.

We have a heap of sponsors including GamesWorkshop Premier sponsorship for all the GW tournaments.

BattleCry are also proud to announce collaboration with the Underpants on the Outside team. They will be running a super stall area with all sorts of things for sale going on. If you would like to hold your own sell table as part of BattleCry, please let us know as soon as possible as table spaces are filling fast.

We also have Orc Ball happening on the field outside on Saturday if you remember it from BattleCrys in days gone by or newly featured last year at Chimera. We will also have the Waikato Alfs declaring war on BattleCry and a number of local groups will be helping us on the field to defend our honour including the local Kaos group and the Argent Lords.

And for more things to see and do, there are whispers of a Medieval Games Day happening around the field area over the weekend, with reenactment groups running some events. More details to come.

Heaps to see and do.

Costs: entry fee into the tournaments range from $25 to $35(before 31st January 2009) after that there is a price rise in all registration costs.
See the website for more details.

BattleCry is still free for spectators from 9am through to 6pm.

We will have our awesome team running the café/snack shop again. And with a bigger fully equipped kitchen there will be more yummy lunch items on the menu.

For more information email Karen on info@theamericaclub.net.nz or ring her on 027 6694937 or even pop into King of Cards in the Queens Arcade to find out the latest gossip and pre-register for BattleCry.
